Date: 3 January 2012
I had the day off today. I used the first half of my day to run errands ad do grow up stuff (pats self on the back) but by noon I was done with everything I HAD to do and I wondered as I wandered, “What will I dod with the rest of my day?”
As I perused the aisles of Marshall’s, it all came down to the dollar show or the zoo. I heavily considered the dollar show option. I was trying to see what movies had already come out that I wanted to see but didn’t get a chance to catch in theaters. I pondered this all the way home while weighing it against the zoo option. Even though it is the middle of winter (figuratively speaking because it’s technically only about 3 weeks in) and it is cold as polar bear balls I stiil thought the zoo was a good idea.
Well when I got home and went over my plans with my brother we decided that the zoo was a winner — and indeed it was. After rallying a couple other people to come along, Kelsey, Daniel, Jaylen and I roamed the streets of the zoo with its light dusting of snow and thin patches of ice in almost complete solitude. We joked that it was about to be the beginning of a new Jumanji movie, it was that eerie. However once we got into the different houses (i.e. Reptile House, Amphibian House, etc.) their were at least zoo keepers there to keep us company and tell us all about the animals.

Tadpoles! If you look closely, you’ll see that they are in a stage of metamorphosis where they actually have a tail and small legs! Cool!

Grown up frog!

Three adults completely excited about the amphibians at the zoo!

Little blue frog

Jaylen pointed out that the poor birds looked froze in place. They did! They looked so sad and cold.

Hop Sign!

Turtle, turtle!

Oh Mr. Snake, you could probably swallow me whole. The next time I’ll be getting this close to you you’ll be a fierce looking bag!

These are camels. They didn’t look like regular Disney approved camels. We decided that they were Llama-Camel hybrids. “Get over here Tina!”

This fool. Swimmin’ with the seals! this portion of the zoo is my favorite. It’s extra cool when all the animals are swimming around in their. The seals held it down tho. They entertained us for a good twenty minutes.

Daniel hates peacocks. When he was a babe in arms, a peacock stole his cracker. He isn’t over it.

Sings: Rudolph the red nosed reindeer…

All the way in the back there, those are flamingo! The lone ranger in the front, “is that a chicken?” No, clown! It’s a crane! LoL
This concludes our zoo trip. I had tres tres tres fun!
Backtracking to my shopping detour at Marshall’s while delibertaing about this great decision I made a great purchase. I felt like it was some kind of meant to be, these boots were meant for me:
I wear a size 7. I know this. However this was the last and only and final pair of a cute pair of black ankle boots. At first I casually walked passed, noticing the EXTREMELY reasonable $19.99 price tag while simultaneously noticing the lacking half-size. I made my way aroud the store, in and out of the various departments, up and down aisles and racks and right around back to those boots. ‘Ahhh, what the hell, I can try them on. They probably won’t fit with these big ass swaet socks on anyw—’
THEY FIT!
THEY FIT!Quickly snatches box and books it to the checkout.
